Keeping our Waterways Clean!

Who we are
Coastal Waste Warriors is run by, and for, volunteers.
These are the aims of the Coastal Waste Warriors:
-
Conserving our natural environment and marine life through organised clean up events.
-
Connecting with the community, educating, and raising awareness about the negative impacts of littering and plastic pollution on our natural environment and marine life through their participation in our clean-up and other events.
-
Collecting data about litter collected from our clean up events and inputting that data into an appropriate database, such as the Tangaroa Blue Australian Marine Debris Initiative database (ADMI), to assist with source reduction initiatives and campaigns.
-
Engaging, inspiring, and educating the community on ways they can reduce waste by following the sustainability principles, including: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, Rot & Retrieve.
-
Working in partnership with other related community groups to advance these objects

The Clean Up in a Box toolkit is aimed at small groups (up to a maximum of 30) who would like to conduct a litter cleanup in the Mandurah region. We have 3 x toolkits available for loan that contain everything you will need to safely conduct a litter cleanup.
A cleanup can be conducted anywhere! In local parks, beach/coastline/river areas, in the school yard – unfortunately most public places have their share of litter.
If you are a school, community/social group, resident group or organisation and want to make a difference in your local area complete the booking request below.
